The Beginnings
The first Group company – Interpump Group – was founded in 1977 in Sant’Ilario d’Enza on the initiative of Fulvio Montipò thanks to a radical innovation, the replacement of steel pistons with ceramic pistons.
This new material improved the efficiency, performance and reliability of pumps and in just a few years the Group became the world market leader.
Growth and stock market listing
This position was strengthened thanks to development based on the continuous improvement of products and technologies to best meet customer needs, on the one hand, and gradual diversification in adjacent sectors, on the other.
Thanks to this growth, in 1996, Interpump Group was listed on the Milan Stock Exchange.
Diversification in the world of hydraulics
The strategic turning point came in the late 1990s, with the entry into the world of hydraulics: in just two years the Group would become the largest manufacturer of power take-offs in the world.
From this original division, the Group began repositioning itself in sectors with higher added value.
Two divisions, one strategy
Growing to diversify and consolidate excellence. In the Water-Jetting sector, strengthening our leadership in high and ultra-high-pressure pumps and continuing our expansion in the flow handling segment.
In the Hydraulics sector, building different poles of activity, from cylinders to valves and DCVs, from hoses, pipes and fittings to the most recent reduction gears.
